Wuhan University (WHU) and the University of Dundee (UoD) conducted an online meeting on Nov 6 to discuss advancements in their joint architecture program.
Yuan Yufeng, vice-president of WHU, expressed optimism about utilizing both institutions' strengths to enhance the program’s quality, emphasizing the need to explore new fields to foster international cooperation and cultural exchange.
Kim Dale, vice-chancellor of UoD, highlighted the evolution of their strategic partnership, from classroom-based teaching to broader societal collaborations. She expressed enthusiasm for expanding collaborative efforts at the undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels.
Participants discussed key topics - such as program promotion, recruitment strategies, tuition fees, and scholarships - and reached several agreements, including plans to deepen cooperation in design and urban planning by 2026 and to extend collaboration to postgraduate and doctoral levels for international exchange and talent development.
There was also a consensus to enhance faculty exchanges and training, as well as to bolster recruitment efforts for both existing and future programs.
UoD, founded in 1881, is a public research university. According to the 2026 Guardian University Guide, its architecture program ranks third in the United Kingdom. The joint architecture program with WHU has been enrolling students in China since 2013. The program has graduated203 individuals.
