UNGSC delegation visits Wuhan University

A delegation from the United Nations Global Service Centre (UNGSC) recently visited Wuhan University to explore and enhance bilateral cooperation. The delegation was led by Kais Zouabi, chief of the Client Solutions Delivery Section, and Mariangela Noviello, a spatial information analysis expert.

Zouabi and Noviello delivered presentations on the "Frontier Applications of Spatio-Temporal Intelligence: Empowering Sustainable Development in Developing Countries International Training Program" and the "2025 International Conference on Geospatial Information Science and Advanced Spatio-Temporal Intelligence Training Programme".

Their talks highlighted the United Nations' innovative application of geospatial and remote sensing technologies in field missions.

The delegation also held in-depth discussions with faculty members, including Academician Li Deren, Professor Yang Bisheng, Professor Shao Zhenfeng, and Professor Li Xi, to explore potential areas for collaboration and knowledge sharing.

The delegation toured key departments and facilities at the university, such as the Office of International Affairs, the State Key Laboratory of Information Engineering in Surveying, Mapping, and Remote Sensing, and the Satellite Ground Station.

The UNGSC, headquartered in Brindisi, Italy, and Valencia, Spain, plays a critical role in providing geospatial intelligence, satellite communications, and logistical support for UN peacekeeping and field missions worldwide.
