1. Account setup
The Information Center has pre-registered campus network accounts for all new students. Your internet account is your student ID number.
For non-mainland students, the initial password is the first six characters of your valid identification number (case-sensitive for letters).
The initial password rules are subject to the current year's guidelines for new students.
2. Access methods
Wireless campus network:
- Wireless network signals cover student dormitories and teaching/office areas.
- SSID for dormitory networks: WHU-STU, WHU-STU-5G.
- SSID for teaching/office areas: WHU-WLAN.
- Authentication: Web-based.
Wired campus network:
- Each dormitory room is equipped with a wired network port, which also requires Web-based authentication.
3. Fees and recharge
New students can access the internet for free during their first week on campus. After the free period, the fee is 20 yuan per month.
To continue using the campus network, recharge your account through:
- PC Portal: Personal Network Self-Service at the Information Portal.
- Mobile App: Use "LuoJia e-Card" or "Fusion Payment" features in the official Wuhan University app, Smart Luojia.
Note:
Payment is prepaid monthly. Ensure your account balance has at least 20 yuan at the start of each billing cycle (billing start dates vary per student).
Campus network accounts can be suspended and resumed via self-service. Suspended accounts do not incur charges. Suspension will result in the change of the billing cycle start date (postponed by the suspension duration).
For more features, visit the Campus Network Self-Service Portal:
4. Fault reporting
For issues such as inactive wired ports or weak wireless signals in dormitories, log into the fault reporting platform.
Entry 1: Campus Repair Service.
Entry 2: Smart LuoJia → Applications → Campus Repair Service.
5. How many devices can be simultaneously online with one account?
A maximum of 3 devices.
6. Internet service providers in dormitory areas
Students can use China Telecom, China Unicom, or China Mobile networks in dormitories via the same connection methods as the campus network (sharing the same physical access).
Steps:
1. Open a broadband account at the corresponding provider's service center.
2. Bind your account in the My ISP section of the Campus Network Self-Service Portal.
- ISP Account: Your personal broadband account.
- Password: Your ISP broadband password.
3. On the campus network login page, select the respective ISP in the third option and connect.
Notes:
1. To successfully use ISP networks:
- Activate your campus network account (the login page still requires your campus network account and password).
- If you wish to use only ISP networks, keep your campus account active but avoid recharging it.
2. The Recharge option in the Campus Network Self-Service Portal is only for campus network fees and does not apply to ISP payments.
3. To switch ISPs later, unbind the previous account before binding a new one.
