WHU hosts culinary and cultural exchange to celebrate New Year

A culinary celebration is held at Wuhan University to welcome the New Year.

The School of International Education at Wuhan University hosted a culinary and cultural exchange event on Jan 1 to ring in the New Year, with nearly 300 students from 29 countries coming together to celebrate friendship and cultural diversity.

The event featured a short film that took attendees on an immersive global culinary journey and showcased the scrumptious pastries of East Asia, traditional baked goods of Europe, distinctive flavors from the Americas, aromatic grains from Africa, and the fresh ingredients of Oceania.

Each dish highlighted the unique cultural heritage and New Year traditions of its region, earning praise from attendees.

International students, dressed in traditional attire, shared the culinary techniques, rich culture, and New Year traditions of their home countries, while Chinese students made traditional dishes such as dumplings and rice balls, offering international students a taste of New Year culture in China.
