From March 28th to 30th, 2014 Duke-UNC China Leadership Summit was held in North Carolina, USA. On behalf of Wuhan University, Doctorate student Yu Houqiang from the School of Information Management and senior student Liu Hanyu from the School of Computer Science participated in the summit with fresh “China Voice”.

2014 Duke-UNC China Leadership Summit (CLS) is a 3-day event co-hosted by Duke University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. CLS 2014, under the theme The Chinese Dream: Local Realities and Global Implications attracted more than 110 delegates from over 20 renowned universities in US, China, Japan, Korea, India and Vietnam, including Harvard University and Yale University etc. In the opening ceremony, David Shambaugh, Director of the China Policy Program at George Washington University delivered an opening speech in which he commended China's rapid development. In the summit, experts on China study gave inspiring speeches with the topic covering workers' right, political reform and economic investment, China's contemporary political structure, ethnic minorities, etc. Speeches generated active discussions among delegates who exchanged their ideas profoundly. Wuhan University delegates Yu Houqiang and Liu Hanyu expressed their views on variety of issues positively, which helps promote China’s national image while left a deep impression on all participants.

Established in 2010, the summit provides a networking platform for all delegates to discuss China-US issues and explores opportunities for future collaboration between two countries.
