The Cherry Blossom Festival has become an iconic cultural activity at Wuhan University’s beautiful campus, attracting an increasing number of visitors from home and abroad each year. For Wuhan University and all WHUers, the blooming of the cherry blossoms, namely the period from early March to mid-April, is a festive season.
Generally speaking, there are 4 different varieties of cherry blossom trees at WHU, namely Janpanese cherry blossom, weeping cherry blossom,Cerasus serrulata and Yunnan cherry blossom, most of which are spread along the Cherry Blossom Boulevard and the Administration Building. As authentic WHUers, we would like to show you around the campus to appreciate the stunningly beautiful cherry blossoms.
To start with, if you are one of those unwilling to struggle through the crowd, the WHU shuttle bus is always a good choice. Two yuan for a campus tour is a certainly good deal.
Passing the main gate of Wuhan University and then strolling southward to Meiyuan Road, you will be greeted by a mass of bright colors from the beautiful Yunnan cherry blossom.
Then swing by the Administration Building, you will be stunned by the one and only green cherry blossom tree at a corner.
Strolling tothe Cherry Blossom Boulevard, you will be amazed by the view of the Science Building covered by a pink cheery blossom rain as the gentle breeze blows over from time to time.
Coming to the famous Kunpeng Square at the end of the Cherry Blossom Boulevard, you will find the Kunpeng sculpture surrounded by beautiful cherry blossoms at the center of the square.
