QS 2020 rates 27 subjects of WHU top 300

The annual QS World University Rankings by Subject 2020, released on March 3, ranked 27 subjects of WHU in the top 300 globally, with Pharmacy and Pharmacology newly on the list.

Amidst these 27 subjects, 3 kept their spots a
t top 50 in the ranking: Engineering Mineral & Mining, Dentistry and Library & Information Management. Though joining the top 50 for the first time a year ago, Library & Information Management witnessed a dramatic leap in ranking from No.47 to No.35 this time.

Among universities in mainland China, WHU scored the 7th place with the result of 27 subjects breaking into top 500 bracket, tying with Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

The Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings by subject evaluates nearly 1400 institutions based on academic survey results, employer review survey results, citations per research paper and the H-index, an author-level metric that aims at capturing the productivity and impact of one’s publication. The 2020 edition of the ranking features 48 academic disciplines, grouped into five broad subject areas. Its comprehensive and synthetic sources make it one of the most authoritative and widely-read academic rankings.

This ranking highlights WHU’s excellence across an incredibly wide range of disciplines as well as the effectiveness of the construction of Double First-Class (World-Class Universities and World-Class Disciplines) in promoting China’s higher education. With all the results it has already gained, WHU will make unremitting efforts to further shape the sound climate that embraces unbridled academic exploration and innovation.
