On October 15, the 2015-2016 Technological Innovation Awarding Ceremony, chaired by Student Affairs Office Po Li, was held in the lecture hall of College Student Innovation & Practice Center. College leadership (Sheng Liu, Xinli Guo, Duanwei Shi, Siming Wang, Jiang Guo, and Yong Kang), faculty adviser representatives (Hongtao Zeng, Guoshun Wang, and Jialin Guo), Teaching Administrative Office Director Ding Chen and other officials attended the meeting.
This was the fourth annual Technological Innovation Awarding Ceremony. In the past year, the students got great achievements on science and technology innovation activities, namely the first prize in the 15th National Robot Competition for College Students, two national grand prize and three first prize in the 11th National Intelligent Vehicle Competition for College Students, and two first prize and one second prize in the 9th National College Student Social Practice and Technology Innovation Competition on Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction, etc... At the ceremony, 67 students were awarded the glory of “Advanced Individual of College Student Science & Technology Innovation".
For the award-winning students, Sheng Liu, dean of the college, gave them heartily congratulations. He pointed out that in today's society with rapid development of science and technology, social practice and technological innovation were particularly important, and then he made specific suggestions and requests to all the students.
Duanwei Shi, director of College Student Engineering Training and Innovation Practice Center, admitted that we achieved great success in last year, but he also pointed out that the gap still exists when compared with other universities with top level in the technological innovation, and encouraged students to guard against arrogance and keep going.
Siming Wang, deputy party secretary of our college, read out the Decision about Commending Advanced Individual of College Student Science & Technology in 2106. Sheng Liu (dean of the college) and Xinli Guo (party secretary of the college) gave the prize to the winners and took photos with them.
Jixiang Li, advanced personal representative as well as the member of robot team, delivered a speech. He said that the efforts of teachers and students, leaders’ attention to technological innovation and the good atmosphere for students to make innovation are the reason for the great achievements. He also determined to keep going and never say give up.
In the future, college students ' science and technology innovation activities will continue to be a major work of our college. The college will continue to make greater efforts to cultivate students’ “three creativities”, encourage students to participate in the science and technology innovation, and create a good atmosphere of scientific and technological innovation. We believe that our students will be able to create greater glories in the near future.
