Zhao Xuemei

Zhao Xuemei, female, Han nationality, born in December 1963 at Santai, Sichuan Province in Southwest China. With a graduate degree and doctorate, she is now a researcher in Wuhan University.  As a member of the Communist Party of China since June 1985, she entered the workplace in July 1986 and is currently the deputy secretary of the Party Committee of Wuhan University.

From 1982 to 1986, she studied for and finished her undergraduate courses at the History Department of Southwest Normal University.

From 1991 to 1992, she studied for and obtained her Master’s degree through the Master's Program in the History Department of Peking University.

From 1997 to 2001, she experienced in-service doctoral studies and was awarded a doctorate at the Business School of Wuhan University (now named as Economics and Management School of Wuhan University).

In 1992, 1999, and 2010, she was promoted to lecturer, associate researcher and researcher respectively.

From July 1986 to March 1994, she served as a teacher in the History Department of Southwest Normal University.

From March 1994 to February 1999, she worked as deputy chief at the Teacher's Office and the Human Resources Department of Wuhan University, enjoying the same level as senior staff.

From February 1999 to November 2000, she served as the director of the Talent Exchange Center and the deputy director of the Personnel Office of Wuhan University.

From November 2000 to March 2004, she served as the director of the Teachers’ Office of the Human Resources Department in Wuhan University.

From March 2004 to July 2007, she served as Vice Minister and Secretary of the Party Branch of the Human Resources Department, Wuhan University.

From July 2007 to August 2009, she served as Director and Secretary of the Party Branch of the Graduate Student Admissions and Employment Division of the Graduate School, Wuhan University.

From August 2009 to June 2012, she served as the Minister of the Human Resources Department, Wuhan University.

From June 2012 to September 2017, she served as the head of the Organization Department of Wuhan University Party Committee.

In December 2013 and December 2016, she began to serve as the standing committee member and the deputy secretary of Wuhan University Party Committee respectively.

From April to May 2013, she received special training for the supervision of cadres held by China’s National Organization of Cadres of the Central Organization Department, and the training for the heads of the personnel departments of the State Organs and the state-administered Colleges and Universities. From July to August of the same year, she participated in University Leadership Training at University of Rutgers University, and she was selected by China Scholarship Council.

Up till now, she has published over 30 papers, edited a collection of books, presided over and participated in the completion of 8 projects of Chinese Higher Education Institution and China’s Ministry of Education. Her abundant research achievements have brought her such awards as the Outstanding Achievement Award and Thesis Award respectively presented by Chinese Higher Education Institution and other institutions. In 2001 and 2006, she was entitled “Outstanding Party Member” and “Excellent Party Worker” of Wuhan University. In 2005 and 2012, the title of “Advanced Worker of National Teacher Management Research Branch” went to her. In 2010, she was awarded “Advanced Individual of National Postdoctoral Management” by China’s Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security. In 2013, she was elected as "Excellent Worker" of Chinese Higher Education Institution.

Professional Affiliations: Executive Vice President of Hubei University Leadership Science and Research Association, and President of Hubei Graduate Moral Education Research Association.
