On November 10th, Hungary’s Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Stvan Ujhelyi, visited Wuhan University to discuss WHU’s cooperation with Hungarian universities. The chair of the WHU council Han Jin and Executive President Feng Youmei met with him in the VIP meeting room.
Han Jin introduced WHU before discussing WHU’s partnerships with top universities around the world through academic exchanges, cooperative research and joint degrees.
Stvan Ujhelyi suggested that China and Hungary could build a win-win relationship by strengthening cooperation in science, education, economics and politics. He introduced his alma mater, the University of Szeged, as a century-old university with diverse leading disciplines such as laser physics and sports. He explained the university was well known for its scientific innovation and Nobel Prize winners. He hoped that University of Szeged could cooperate and set up exchange programs with Chinese universities such as WHU.
The University of Szeged is one of Hungary's most distinguished public universities comprising faculty of agriculture, arts, economics, business administration, and engineering, etc. Stvan Ujhelyi was crucial in setting up the second Confucius Institute at Szeged.
