WHU Delegation Visits Sri Lanka

From October 15th to the 18th, a delegation headed by Wuhan University President Li Xiaohong visited Sri Lanka for the 44th Asia-Pacific Academic Consortium for Public Health (APACPH).

At the conference, President Li spoke in  English about the current state of Wuhan University’s innovations and developments. He focused on WHU’s contributions to AIDS prevention and treatment, international cooperation in public health and global health. The speech was acclaimed by scholars and representatives from other countries.

At the meeting, the APACPH organizing committee conferred upon President Li an outstanding contribution award for his contribution in promoting global health education and academic exchange in the Asia-Pacific region. After the conference, experts from the United States, Australia and Japan, among many nations, expressed their hope in establishing a cooperative relationship with WHU.

The WHU delegation also visited University of Colombo and had a meeting with the head of its medical school. The two sides exchanged views on student and academic exchanges. Afterwards, the delegation met with the Chinese ambassador to Sri Lanka, Wu Jianghao. 

WHU’s  visit to Sri Lanka will contribute to WHU’s international reputation, particularly in the fields of medical research and education.
