WHU Visits India and Nepal

From September 30th to October 7th, a Wuhan University delegation, led by the chair of the university council, Li Jian, paid a visit to India and Nepal. During the eight-day stay, the delegation visited three universities, met with the president of Nepal, Ram Baran Yadav, along with staffs from Chinese embassy in Nepal and attended a ceremony establishing the Nepal branch of the WHU Alumni Association.

The delegation was well received by universities and colleagues in India and Nepal. The visit lead cooperation memorandum being signed with parties in both countries, which lays the solid foundation for increased foreign student enrolment and improving the quality of incoming foreign students. Additionally, WHU was able to promote stronger ties between the two South Asian nations and China.

During the visit in India, the delegation visited the Vellore Institute of Technology, and while there, signed a memorandum of understanding for strengthening student exchange. The delegation also liaised with Sharda University about accepting students to study at WHU.

In Nepal, the delegation and the Sidhatha Vanastali Institute renewed a past agreement and explored future cooperation both in teaching Chinese and Stomatology. At the ceremony establishing the Nepal branch of WHU’s Alumni Association, Li Jian introduced WHU’s recent developments and academic successes while presenting the flag to the organization on behalf of WHU.
