On July 11, “2011 Jing Chu Journey by Students across the Taiwan Strait—the 100th Anniversary of 1911 Revolution” drew its curtain in Wuhan University.

Nearly 500 college students and teachers from mainland China and Taiwan attended the anniversary, with more than 300 participants from Taiwan district. This event was held for teachers and students across the Taiwan Strait to review the glorious deeds of the heroic struggle of the martyrs in the 1911Revolution, and deepen the understanding and communication between the college students across the strait, so that the young students could inherit the traditional Chinese culture, rejuvenate the Chinese nation and create a better tomorrow together.

With a brief historical retrospect across time and space, students and teachers from both mainland China and Taiwan addressed the opening of the ceremony, expressing the deep feeling that compatriots across the strait share the same root and descendance. After the opening ceremony, Professor Zhang Kaiyuan at Central China Normal University delivered a lecture entitled "The 1911 Revolution and Modern China".

It is reported that during the event period the cross-strait college students will have a get-together, and visit the 1911 Revolution Museum and China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) Museum. An essay contest on “The 100th Anniversary of 1911 Revolution” will also be held.
