WHU Celebrating Academician Prof. Zhuo’s 80th Birthday

On July 3rd, the ceremony marking the 80th birthday of Prof. Zhuo Renxi, member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and prominent scientist in high polymer chemistry, and the International Symposium on Bio-medical High Polymer Materials were held at WHU. Prof. Li Jian, secretary of the CPC WHU Committee, and Vice President Prof. Jiang Changzhong attended the event. Over 400 representatives from both academic and industrial circles gathered at WHU on this occasion, including members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, university leaders, entrepreneurs, students, relatives and friends. 

In a keynote speech, Prof. Li Jian extended the sincerest congratulation and best wishes to Prof. Zhuo, speaking highly of his invaluable contribution to the scientific and education development of China. Prof. Mao Haiquan from Johns Hopkins University also spoke on behalf of those former students of Prof. Zhuo, expressing their gratitude to this devoted teacher.

Prof. Zhuo is a distinguished chemist in high polymer, dedicating himself to the research of organic silicon chemistry and bio-medical high polymer materials, and having made tremendous accomplishments in his research.
