MoA with Duke University Signed

Wuhan University signed the Memorandum of Agreement for Global Health Cooperation with the visiting Duke University President’s Delegation on June 30th, 2011.

 

President Li Xiaohong and Vice President Zhou Chuangbing met Duke President Richard H. Brodhead and other 12 delegates in the administration building on the morning of the day. President Li expressed his warm welcome to the delegation and elaborated the successful cooperation between the two universities in the past few months. President Brodhead recalled his long-time impression of Wuhan University before this first visit and thought highly of its alumni and graduates working and studying at Duke. Both Presidents foresaw wider and deeper cooperation and exchanges into other areas of mutual interests based on previous joint efforts. The signing the MoA by Dean of Wuhan University School of Public Health and Duke Global Health Institute concluded the productive meeting.

In the afternoon, President Brodhead gave a speech on the Higher Education in the 21st Century in the auditorium of the Economics and Management School to convey his ideas on the role and function of universities in this new century to address global issues. His speech was warmly responded by student and faculty’s question on aspects of higher education in both U.S. and China.
