FAQs on making appointments at Wuhan University Hospital
1. How to register for an appointment?
You have three convenient methods to register for an appointment:
In-person registration: Visit the registration counter at Wuhan University Hospital, providing your real name, a valid ID (such as a campus card, ID card, or health insurance card), and the payment code for the "Smart Luojia e-Card".
Online registration: Before your first online registration, complete real-name verification via the official Wuhan University Hospital WeChat account. Once registered, you can book appointments through the WeChat account.
Self-service machine registration (during working hours): Use the self-service machines located on the first floor of Wuhan University Hospital with a campus card, "Smart Luojia e-Card", ID card, or health insurance card.
2. What to do if you have symptoms like fever?
If you experience symptoms such as fever (≥37.3°C), cough, nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat, conjunctivitis, muscle pain, or diarrhea, please proceed directly to the hospital's pre-screening triage at the entrance and follow the instructions to the designated consulting room.
3. How to check outpatient doctor schedules?
Visit the hospital's official website or check the official WeChat account for the latest schedules. Please note that doctor schedules are subject to change due to adjustments or holidays, so it's important to confirm in advance.
4. What to do on the day of your appointment after online registration?
Bring a valid ID or the payment code for the "Smart Luojia e-Card" to check in and collect your appointment number at the self-service machine or registration window on the first floor. Failure to check in may affect your consultation.
5. What if the desired department shows no online availability?
If the online system shows no availability, it means the online slots are fully booked. However, there may still be offline slots available, so it's recommended to check in person at the hospital.
6. What if slots for a department are fully booked on-site?
Visit the department around 11:15 a.m. or 4:45 p.m. and inquire if additional slots can be added. Depending on their progress, doctors may accommodate extra patients. However, this depends on time and staffing constraints.
7. How long is an appointment valid?
Appointments are valid only on the day of registration. You will need to register again for consultations on subsequent days.
8. What is the sequence of calling patients?
Doctors will call patients based on the check-in order of both online and in-person registrations. Online registrations that are not checked in will not be called.
9. What if I miss my appointment?
Please report to the respective consulting room and inform the doctor for a second check-in. You will then wait for the doctor to arrange a time to receive treatment.
10. What to do after completing prescribed tests and obtaining results?
For same-day results, return to the doctor or department for follow-up.
For results available later, you will need to register again for a consultation.
12. How to make payments?
Payment options include scanning the QR code on your guidance slip via Alipay or WeChat, using the official WeChat account or paying at the first-floor payment window. Health insurance cardholders may settle fees at the "Health Insurance Window".
13. How to cancel an appointment?
For in-person registrations: Visit the registration window on the first floor on the day of the appointment to cancel.
For online appointments: Cancel via the official WeChat account "Registration Records" option before check-in.
After check-in, cancellations must be handled in person at the registration window. To free up slots for other patients, please cancel online before 11:59 p.m. the day before your appointment. Morning slots must be canceled by 10:30 a.m. and afternoon slots by 4:00 p.m. on the same day.
14. How to request a refund?
Retain all original documents and visit the department or doctor who issued the prescription, treatment, or medication for a refund form. Take the form and all receipts to the payment window for processing. Refunds will be returned via the original payment method.
15. How to view test reports?
Test results are accessible through the hospital's official WeChat account.
16. When is the best time for tooth extraction?
Since the oral department does not offer night services, it is recommended to schedule extractions in the morning during weekdays to allow for timely observation and treatment of any complications.
17. Which hospital campus should I choose for treatment?
Wuhan University Hospital has four campuses located within the four campuses of Wuhan University: the Arts and Sciences Campus (Main Campus), the Engineering Campus (First Outpatient Department), the Information Campus (Second Outpatient Department), and the Medical Campus (Third Outpatient Department).
